The Crash course in regenerative farming meets the information needs of food chain companies. The course has four lessons, each with its own primary message. The learning objectives are set in a way that enables you to complete the course as part of your working day. You can also incorporate the course into your organisation’s training plan. Please allow 2–3 hours to complete the entire course, and about 20–40 minutes for each lesson.
This course is suitable for anyone working in the food system who needs to understand what can be done in primary production to create a more sustainable system. It can also be useful to those in other roles in different ways. Here are a few examples:
Management: You will get useful information about why it is important to promote regenerative farming – and also to incorporate it into your company’s strategy – in order to create a more sustainable food system. This kind of information can be found throughout the course, but particularly in lesson 4, which gives concrete examples of what companies can do to promote change through their own strategies and sustainability programmes.
Communications and training: The course provides a science-based information package that will enable you to share information about regenerative farming both in-house and externally. At the same time, it provides a reliable source for communicating the work that is being done to further regenerative farming. This kind of information can be found throughout the course, but particularly in lesson 3, which will explain the benefits of regenerative farming. In lesson 4, you will find a broad range of examples of how others are promoting these efforts in their organisations.
Product development and procurement: The course will provide you with useful information about regenerative farming, such as how to develop your company’s procurement criteria and improve product sustainability all the way down to primary production. Information about the principles, methods and criteria for regenerative farming can be found in lesson 2 in particular.
Sustainability unit: The course provides a science-based information package that will enable you to share information about regenerative farming with your colleagues and partners. See lesson 3 in particular for information about the benefits of regenerative farming. Lesson 4 gives plenty of concrete examples and information about how companies can integrate regenerative farming into their operations.
Collaboration with farmers: You can use the course in employee onboarding and, for example, training contractual farmers. The course provides an introduction to regenerative farming, its implementation, and its main themes. See lesson 2 for information about using regenerative farming methods on farms. This lesson also includes a list of further reading on the topic.
Each lesson is organised into topics that include videos, images and exercises. You can take the course all in one sitting or in sections. You can track your progress in the table of contents to the left. Finish the topics by marking them as completed – a checkmark will then appear by that topic in the table of contents. You can then mark the entire lesson as completed. Once you have finished all four lessons, you can download your graduation certificate. You can complete the course in any order you like. Remember to log in to the course platform whenever you want to study.
There are no stupid questions! If you feel that something is unclear or difficult to understand, please get in touch using the contact form that you will find in the top menu.
Remember to mark this topic as completed as well. Happy learning!
